Principal Creates Much More Than A Reading Program

What does community mean to you? Every moment of the day offers opportunities to grow and spread what we’ve learned. How are people going to remember you, what legacy do you leave behind? People that inspire us deserve recognition and that’s where our great faces come into play. We’d like to introduce Valarie Janice Smith, she’s dedicated to spreading kindness within our youth. Oftentimes we call this the ripple effect because the kindness spreads like ripples in the water... to our children, then it’s carried home to their families, the family spreads it at work and at the store. This leads to a stronger community where each generation can flourish.

Local students received free books & face painting

Janice is the principal of Pleasant Elementary School in Norwalk, Ohio. Her mission is to inspire our community to “Remember to Be Kind & Work Hard.” She is a great example to the students, parents & staff. Her recent introduction of a program called “Reading Under The Lights” provided an opportunity for families to read together at the Contractor's Football Stadium. The event also offered games, face painting, free books, food, and more.

“We are thankful for her hard work & dedication.. She is a great example of what makes our state the place to call home, come visit and be proud of values. Thank you Mrs. Smith for everything you do.” - Sending Love, Tara
