“One thing I wanted in life was to play football at The Ohio State, never thinking the day of becoming a walk on would change my walk with God for the rest of my life”

I wanted to do a feature story on someone who I felt was a “Great Face” from Ohio! This person who

against all odds survived a life changing experience. One who took a bad situation and made it for the

good; one who knew without a shadow of a doubt, God has a plan for each one of us. I wanted a story

that could give us hope! When I saw the video on Tyson Gentry, knowing his family was from this area, I

was drawn to his strength and determination.

After speaking with Tyson he permitted me to write about him… I hung the phone up with a tear of joy!

Not being a writer, I wanted to tell his story through my eyes. I was blessed with his words and wanted

everyone to take time to read how we can rejoice and encourage one another to be of one mind, living

in peace.

“2 Corinthians 13:11 finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony,

encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will

be with you” - Bible

This also goes back to my metaphor, Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to

you.” Tyson walked on that field to give the best that he had with hopes of playing weekly for a Top Ten

Team and instantly one hit paralyzed him forever! God stepped in and told him, his journey wasn’t over.

The best came back to him in a way he could never imagine. He accepted his new journey even on the

days he wanted to give up! I am asking each follower to read his story and be mindful of Thanksgiving!

Currently, Tyson resides in Georgia running his Non-Profit Organization for Spinal Cord Injuries. I will

forever hold this story close to my heart. Tyson is one of my great faces of Ohio. Thank you Tyson, for

ministering to me!

Much Love - Tara
